Back to Austin Adventure Boot Camp On Call
F-A-Q's
Over the last two years we have opened several different camp sites. We're always looking for locations and times that are convenient to our campers. We need at least 10 committed campers to open a location (site must not be close to an existing location). We base our locations solely on demand; so if you don't see it on the map, contact us and let us know where to put a new camp!
Please note that some sites may require additional work (i.e. paperwork, scheduling, staffing, etc) that must be completed before we can launch a new location. Unfortunately, we cannot open a camp overnight. We thank you in advance for your patience.
What is the sign-up process?Complete the boot camp registration form on this site and submit it electronically. You will then be able to pay online with a credit card or you may mail a check. Once your payment has been received, you may schedule your initial body composition evaluation (but only after available time slots have been posted by the boot camp coaches).
If you have registered and would like more information about the first day of camp, please review our camp guidelines.
What is the evaluation about? The evaluation is very simple and takes only 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Evaluations are typically conducted 1 or 2 days prior to the start of camp or during the first few days. It is not essential that you have your evaluation done before beginning camp. Evaluations may occur after class or in the evening of the first day.
The evaluation includes the following:

People just like you! Some of our boot campers just need to jump start their fitness and wellness program. Some are tired of the same out routine and are looking for a new challenge and refreshing way to stay fit. Most of our campers have some history of exercise, but it's not required. We make the program just right for your ability level. Remember, ALL FITNESS LEVELS ARE ACCEPTED and ENCOURAGED!
What if my friend wants to come to camp with me for a day?Great! We would love to have them join us! Just have your friend fill out the FREE class request form. Friends are welcome to pop in for a day and try out the program.

This number varies from 15-30. Our 5:30 am camp is our most popular and usually has about 25. The other camps typically have about 12-20.
What is a typical day like at boot camp?We don't have typical days -- if you want the same routine day after day, then you would probably want to join a fitness center. You can expect a mixture of cardio exercises, some running (less than a mile), weight-training, mat work, jumping rope, and sports-related games. Each day is designed to be fun and different, but never boring!

What if I don't/can't run?
Running is a great cardio exercise, but we will never force you to run. However, we do expect you to keep moving! We encourage you to power walk to build up your stamina. Soon enough you'll be jogging and then. running. What if I've never lifted weights before? That's fine. If you are just beginning your workout regimen, we recommend that you start with 3 or 5 pound dumbbells (for women; men should start with 8 pound weights). |
We'll be doing multiple repetitions, so don't worry about bringing super heavy weights. If at any point you find the exercises easy, consult your trainer and see if increasing your weights would be appropriate.
Will I be sore? Many boot campers feel some soreness for the first 2-3 days. After that, it is slight to moderate. It's all part of the process of improving your physical condition!
| How soon will I see results?
Performance improvement can take place in as little as 3 days. Visual improvement can take from 2 to 4 weeks depending on your effort level. It's not uncommon to see as much as 2-5 pounds of weight loss after the first week (if you continue to eat healthy -- sign up for a nutrition plan today!). Results are guaranteed!!! But remember, everyone is different. Check out our individual results page for some amazing gains! Note: Every individual is different and will experience different results when participating in Austin Adventure Boot Camp. If you want to lose weight and are under 18, pregnant, nursing, following a diet recommended by a doctor, have health problems or want to lose more than 30 pounds, see a doctor before starting Austin Adventure Boot Camp. |

If you are relatively fit and already involved in a workout program, we welcome you to join us after the camp start date. You will need to complete the registration form and then purchase the desired number of individual classes upon checkout. After you've completed this process, you may simply show up for camp. Just be sure to check in with the instructor before the class begins. Visit our camper information section for more information about your camp. And if you have additional questions or need more information, please contact us.
If you are just starting a workout regimen, we suggest starting at the beginning of a session. Why? Well, at the start of each session we conduct an initial body composition evaluation and an initial fitness evaluation to give you an idea of where you are at the beginning of camp. And as the weeks progress, the classes will become progressively more difficult as you get stronger. Then at the end of the session, we will conduct the final assessments to see how you have improved. Check our women's schedule or men's schedule for our next upcoming camp session.
What if I sign up for the 3-day plan and then want to do all 20 days of camp? This actually happens almost every time a person starts with 3 days per week. They have so much fun, they ask to do all the days. Just fill out the re-enlistment form and then purchase the desired number of individual classes.
What happens if it rains? We are continually monitoring the weather and will post the location of our next camp session on our website when inclement weather is forecasted. It will be your responsibility to check the website to verify the location. If you are still uncertain about the status and/or location of camp due to inclement weather, please call 512-626-0504.
What will I do after boot camp is over? You will get re-measured and tested to show your progress and success in the program. Final evaluations take less than 10 minutes to complete. ( Note: There are no final evaluations for the 2 1/2 week camps.)
Many (up to 50%) of the campers return for a second and even third camp, and returning campers will receive a special discount on their next boot camp registration:
- Complete 1 camp, save $10 off your next full-priced camp.
- Complete 2 or more camps, save $20 off your next full-priced camp.
NOTE: We have set these discounts to be fair and equitable for all returning boot campers, and we will not respond to individual requests for additional discounts. Discount coupons may NOT be used with our repeat camper discount. If you have any questions regarding our repeat camper discount program, please contact us at info@atxbootcamp.com.
Is there a refund policy? If you are unable to attend camp due to circumstances out of your control, we can offer you a refund if you notify us prior to your session start date. However, we will charge a $50.00 cancellation fee.
If you are not able to complete the camp you originally started due to injury or major illness that keeps you from attending camp for 4 or more consecutive days, then at our discretion we will grant you a credit towards the purchase of the next 12 or 20 day boot camp (your credit days + your purchased days must equal a full camp session). Your request for credit consideration must be received before the end of your current camp session (credits will not be issued once camp has ended). In addition, you must provide a doctor's note. The credit is nontransferable. There is no cash refund. This is not negotiable.
