Creating Curb Appeal
When David Plyler of Austin wanted to transform his backyard into a relaxing retreat, he enlisted the services of Lone Star Land Design, LLC, a full service high-end residential and commercial design/build landscape firm and its president, Trey Jones.
"We had a substantial lot and wanted to personalize our outdoor space but needed direction," said Plyler. "Trey came well-recommended and had creative ideas on how to take full advantage of our yard."
After meeting with Plyler to get a better understanding of his needs, Lone Star Land Design provided a comprehensive landscape plan, detailing the project design, materials and construction requirements through completion."The outdoor space must work in conjunction with the home to create an inviting atmosphere and should be seamlessly integrated into existing structures," says Jones.
Lone Star Land Design custom built a patio using an Oklahoma Buff Peach stone to accent the Plyler's pool, planted various native and tropical plants, and installed landscape lighting. "The staff of Lone Star Land Design was knowledgeable about what elements would work cohesively and integrate into our home's design," said Plyler. "They matched plants of various heights and depths in plantings and paired linear and curved lines to create a great finished product."
Current trends in outdoor living design include the creation of "rooms" that divide large yard expanses into smaller, complementary areas. Full-service bars complete with sinks, refrigerators, and ice machines; outdoor kitchens featuring state-of-the-art grills with prep stations; and dual-purpose dining/lounging areas offer comfortable settings to eat and relax.
Plyler is extremely satisfied his new outdoor design has increased his home's curb appeal. "Lone Star Land Design transformed our backyard into a relaxing oasis," says Plyler. "Trey was knowledgeable, professional and responsive, and that made our experience even better than we expected."
"Lone Star Land Design is a ‘one-stop-shop' for all design/build landscape needs, combining expertise in design, planting, lighting, pools, water features and masonry under one umbrella," says Jones. "We manage the entire project in-house from start to finish. A project manager is always available to answer questions and provide a clear and concise schedule. By managing the entire project, as opposed to just certain portions, we alleviate a lot of stress and headache for our clients."
