About Us
The French Legation Museum is the oldest wood-frame structure in Austin. The home was built in 1840 to serve as residence and place of business for the French dipolmat charged with representing the crown in the new Republic of Texas. Still standing in its original location, this fine home now serves as a historic house museum and is also a popular site for weddings and concerts.
